Dry Brushing

Every see one of these kinds of brushes and wonder what they’re for? It’s a dry brush. I use to always see them and think why on Earth would anyone want to use that hard bristled thing on their skin. Well after I finally tried it out about seven years ago I haven’t gone many days without using it since.

What’s the point? Dry Brushing is said to:

  • Support the Lymphatic System (simply it helps your immune system by allowing it to detoxify naturally)

  • Improve Skin (exfoliates, reduces visibility of cellulite)

  • Aids in Circulation

  • Gives a Natural Energy Boost

So here’s the deal before you shower give it a try. Start at your feet and take long brush strokes upward towards your heart. At first it’ll feel different but trust me your body will start to crave it. After your legs continue on similarly with your arms. Start at your hands and brush towards your heart. When you get to your belly I was taught to brush in a circular motion which is said to help with digestion. Make sure you get your back and end with your chest area brushing towards your heart where the lymph system drains. Once you’re done be sure to only use a “clean” body wash &/or lotion as your skin will readily absorb it.

Note to Self: Hang a dry brush up outside the shower and use it daily for daily detox and skin benefits.
